a mental picture...

girl w/ the pink shorts sporting a classic case of 'runner's wedgie'...bouncing up and down on the concrete, doing an occasional fist pump to the ipod mix, baseball cap low to cover the day old mascara, panting...
i am trying to run...it's not a pretty site (feel free to point and laugh if you see me)...three days down...i turn 30 in june..WOW, that's crazy. i am officially out of shape. you should totally join me...here's your recommended playlist for the one mile jog (yep, i said it- one mile):
-That's Not My Name by the Ting Tings
-Paper Planes by M.I.A. (i have to make a conscious effort not to make imaginary guns during this portion of the jog)
-Live Your Life by T.I. featuring Rihanna (this is where the fist pumps come into play...i mean, you just can't help yourself)

Congratulations on taking up running! It's one of the only things that keeps me sane through the stress and craziness of life. And trust me, you're not too old to run, I see plenty of 60 year olds out there!

Your Tay, and my Avery are the same age, so I KNOW your mother-for-nearly-two-years-and-still-out-of-shape pain!
My hubby is having me do his P90x dvd's with him - talk about a comedy skit!
Keep movin' and shakin' it!
(Oh, and don't sweat the 30s - really, it just gets better ;)

I started running a year ago and a mile was rough...seriously rough! But it is so rewarding when you add distance (I am running a half in a couple weeks). Soon you will be able to run for miles or hours. Good luck and keep us posted!

I agree with Lindsey- it is so rewarding when you add distance. Sign up for a race and it will make you set a goal. It's fun- most of the time!

I think we must look the same while running. I try, but it's really not in me. When I keep at it I enjoy it more though.

LOVE Paper Planes and don't know how you have the self-control to NOT make imaginary guns!

You should be so proud that you are actually attempting it. I decided to start running so I went out and bought a great new running outfit and shoes and they are sitting in my closet taunting me.

P.S. Great playlist

You go Girl...3 days is an awesome start! I started with a mile too years ago and worked up to 6. It's great because you can lace up your sneakers, go from the house and be back in a short amount of time and you feel soooo good. Now (I am 52) I do a power walk with some jogging and do lots of long distance cycling. Just keep moving and drink lots of water!
Blessings,
Renae
